  • Travis County Parks Commercial Use Protocol: Watercraft

    Registration needs: 

    • Proof of business registration with State of Texas
    • Identify business type: Party boat or commercial sales and construction
    • TPWD TX Number for each watercraft, copies of registration required (Maintain current registration)
    • Photos of watercraft displaying TPWD TX number
    • Proof of insurance:  
      • Minimum requirements $500,000 per occurrence/ $1M in aggregate 
      • Attached binder with (Travis County, 700 Lavaca, Austin, TX 78701) listed as additionally insured 
    • Business owner marks acceptance of behavioral requirements
    • Identify Park preference and if business will use ramp just for pick-up
    • Signed copy of behavioral protocols and park rules

     

    TC Parks review approved applications:

    • Pass or Fail of application based on set criteria: business registration, TPWD registration, insurance requirements
    • Notice will be given for all failed applications with an explanation
    • Issue permit and stickers for watercraft

     

    Standards of Conduct:

    • Acknowledge business and employees have read and understood TC Park rules and guidelines, i.e.: disrespectful to park staff and/or park guest, not being in compliance with park licensing agreement.
    • Acknowledge business and employees have read and understood all applicable state and local laws and regulations, i.e.: public intoxication, minor in possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct, littering, urinating in public, expired vessel registration.
    • Only watercraft and boat trailers in compliance with all applicable local and state laws are allowed in parks.
    • Business is responsible for the behaviors of their customers including laws, park rules and guidelines.
    • Any incident/violation involving business, customers, or employees can result in suspension or termination of permit.
    • All permittees engaging in commercial boat operations must stop at the booth and declare entry before proceeding into the park.
    • All motor vehicles and trailers must be properly parked in designated parking spots when parked inside the park.
    • All trailered or motorized watercraft must be launched at designated boat ramps or boat launch areas only.
    • All launching and retrieval of watercraft must be done in a safe manner.
    • Trash/Recycling: use dumpsters, no small receptacles.
    • Respect courtesy docks: 15-minute loading/unloading.
    • Respect other visitors; boat operators and general public.
    • Notify rental patrons of additional park fees and rules.
    • No overnight parking, mooring, or storing of equipment.
    • TC Parks reserves the right to close a park for business reasons, flood, or other natural disaster.
    • Business address, pin-drop, or announcement that business address is at or within Travis County Park boundaries is not permitted.
    • Any incident/violation involving business, customers, or employees can result in suspension or termination of permit.
