Internship Opportunities at TNR
Travis County Transportation & Natural Resources (TNR) offers hands-on internship opportunities across a wide range of teams that support the county’s infrastructure, environmental protection, and public services. As a TNR intern, you may:
- Parks: Support park improvement planning and policing.
- Environmental Quality: Participate in projects in any of the following programs: Stormwater, Water Quality, Groundwater, Air Quality, Sustainability, or Resiliency.
- Natural Resources: Participate in ecological surveys, restoration projects, land management, and education/outreach efforts.
- Civil Engineering: Contribute to design reviews, field inspections, and data collection efforts.
- Planning: Conduct research and assist with development reviews and land use planning.
- On-Site Sewage Facilities (OSSF): Help review permit applications and perform site evaluations.
- Traffic Engineering: Analyze roadway data, review traffic control plans, and support safety studies.
- GIS (Geographic Information Systems): Develop maps and manage spatial data to support decision-making.
- Inspections: Join field inspectors on site visits and help prepare compliance reports.
- Capital Improvement Program (CIP): Track project progress and assist with documentation and coordination.
